5 Ways We're Styling The Colour Of The Season

Burgundy (or any deep red tone) is the it girl colour right now. We recently saw it strutting down the runways at NYFW and now it's everywhere, naturally. These deep red tones are a great way to add a pop of colour to your outfits without feeling too loud (unless that's your thing, go for it). The best part is that there are so many ways to incorporate burgundy or maroon or crimson (call it what you want) into your outfits and we've compiled a list just for you.

The Bordeaux Tights

Burgundy tights add a chic edge to any outfit, and lucky for you, the Threads team just released The Bordeaux. This colour of tights can be perfectly paired with neutrals like black, gray, or warm browns. Our Pinterest boards are absolutely filled of outfit inspo of monochromatic maroon looks. Hurry! The Bordeaux are a limited time product offered within our Celebration Collection, so get it while you can.

Layering Outerwear

A burgundy leather bomber jacket or blazer is a piece that we fear you may absolutely need this season to keep up (fashionably). Honestly, nothing compares to the sheen of a deep red leather paired with a contouring bodysuit, skirt, and burgundy or nude-toned tights. Add a chunky knit scarf for warmth if needed. We promise you'll be turning heads in this.

Accessorize Via: Scarves, Bags, or Shoes

If you're scared to go all-in, try introducing burgundy through accessories! Not ready to break away from your black on black uniform? Throw on a crimson scarf for added warmth and a fresh pop of colour. Looking for a new bag to carry your laptop, wallet, and chapstick in? That deep red leather handbag has your name on it. And finally, who doesn't love a pair of burgundy kitten heels? Perfect with baggy jeans or a dress and sheer hosiery.

What About Nails?

Your outfit doesn't end at the garments you wear. It can be anything from your makeup to your nails. If you're thinking about testing out some colour in your looks, but are hoping for a more subtle approach, nail polish is the way to go. On the inverse of that, if you want to be head to toe in burgundy, nails are the cherry on top!

Ribbons

For the minimalists with commitment issues (we love you anyways), opt for tying the colour you want to feature onto your look. Pardon? Sometimes tying a little ribbon to a purse or jean loop is the perfect amount of colour to start. It's actually SO cute, and works for many different looks. Try even adding one to your hair elastic!
